DP410 The Haunting Hour pt2

(Open to Haunting smiling evilly as his left leg is above Danny, ready to stomp on him)
Haunting: I’d count to three, but I waited too long for this!
(Suddenly a blast hits him in the back of the head; he looks behind to see Maddie Fenton, hood on, with a bazooka in her hands)
Maddie: This madness ends now!
Haunting: The only madness here is you stopping me! (Turns around and grabs the bazooka in her hand, crushing it into a ball with both hands; he grabs her by the arms and throws her onto the side of the Fenton RV; suddenly his leash activates, shocking him hard) AAAHHHH! Are you angry, Plasmius?! Angry that I attacked the woman you love that hates you so much?! (The shocking continues)
Danny: Vlad? (Getting up) He’s behind this... I got to find him and stop whatever he’s planning!
(Danny flies away; shot of Haunting looking over his left shoulder; shot of Danny’s face as he flies, suddenly something catches him, looking back its Haunting, grabbing him by the ghostly tail)
Haunting: You were going to put this on hold?! (Swings the arm he holds Danny in back) What ever made you think I’d let you live that long?! (Throws Danny into a brick wall)
(Danny grunts as he slides down the wall, holding his head with his right hand in pain; suddenly a look of fear from his face shows; from the angle of his right side of his face, Danny sees Haunting walking up carrying a red sports car, ready to squish Danny with it; suddenly a blast from off-screen right blasts the car out of his hands; shot of Haunting looking in that direction in surprise, then another blast hits him; new shot of that person who fired, whose black glove radiates energy)
Dani: That was for Danny, and this is for me! (Flies head first towards Haunting, who suddenly jumps out of the way, causing her to crash into a blue car)
Haunting: Crash course in Haunting-ology! (Laughs) Now where was I?!
Danny: (Getting up and walks up to Haunting) Listen I know you and I aren’t exactly on friendly terms, but my friends and family have nothing to do with you hating me!
Haunting: Yes they do! If the world stands in my way, then the world will suffer, but not as much as you will!
Danny: If you want to destroy me so badly, then leave them out of it!
Haunting: Destroy is such a pathetic replacement for “Death”, I prefer... SLAUGHTER! (Haunting then lunges out, lashing his tongue out and extends his arms out, ready to attack Danny; he stops when the leash unleashes its electricity, Haunting kneels in pain as he grabs the leash; growling at Danny) This isn’t over until your last breath is a scream! (Haunting phases through the ground and escapes)
Danny: Count on it! (Realizes something and runs to a totaled car) Dani?!
(Dani crawls out of the damaged car)
Dani: I’m okay! Well... not so much.
(They both return to human form)
(Valerie steps out of the doors, despite being several yards away, she can see who they are perfectly)
Valerie: What’s Danny doing with the ghost boy’s cousin? (She sneaks up behind a black car, a white truck, and then a yellow beetle to get closer)
Danielle: I checked your mom, she should be fine.
Danny: (Sighs in relief) Great... call Jazz and let her know where you are and to get an ambulance, my mom could be hurt still. (Turns around and walks away)
Danielle: You’re going to find Haunting... aren’t you?
Danny: I know he wants nothing more than to crush my skull or something, but he’ll use whoever he knows is close to me to get what he wants. And we all know what he wants.
Danielle: (Sighs, thumbs up) Just be careful cousin.
Danny: (Thumbs up) You now I will. (Runs out of the parking lot, apparently to weak to go ghost)
Valerie: (Watching all this) Cousin?
(Vlad’s office; Haunting pounds the desk with his fists)
Haunting: I almost had him!
Vlad: You also attacked poor Maddie!
Haunting: Why do you care?! The woman hates your guts!
Vlad: Uh-uh-uh! (Pulls out the remote with the button that activates the leash; Haunting steps back in fear) I can fry you by holding the button even longer.
(Haunting growls in anger and goes intangible, flying out the ceiling; Vlad then opens a drawer next to him on his desk and pulls out something resembling a blueprint)
Vlad: I just need to examine the engine and make a suitable substitute for my master weapon. Hopefully when that happens I’ll get rid of that monster soon.
(Amity Park night, Danny Phantom flies out in the middle of downtown until reaching city hall, lying on the roof)
Danny: If I were a monster bent on beheading the person I blame for ruining my life, where would I be?
Haunting: RIGHT HERE! (A pair of intangible, muscular arms come out and grabs Danny, making him intangible as well; Danny is pulled all the way down into the basement with pipes, as shown in Public Enemies; Haunting has his right foot on Danny’s chest) How’s it hanging? You know, I never got to tell you living with this shade has done for me. (Shot of Danny trying to pull the foot off him) I remember when you saved us from certain death by the asteroid. (Shot of Haunting as he speaks) I remember how you, Fenton, were a hero and an idol among the Earth for that world. (Image of his face as he smiles to glares) I hated it! (High Angle shot of the two) My life became worst than dirt by you and you end up an idol?! Now fate... (Smiles evilly) has given me a chance to correct its error of letting you live.
Danny: You forgot something. (Danny phases through the floor; Haunting has slight moment as he slaps himself in the head for forgetting this, then Danny flies out and punches him in the chin, sending him into the ceiling and some pipes) Let’s play “Follow the leader!” (Flies out the room)
Haunting: (Breaks through the pipes) I’d rather play “Follow the boy that I’ll rip in half!” (Follows Danny)
(Outside the Hall, Danny flies at full speed, looking over his right shoulder to see no one behind him)
Danny: That’s weird. I thought he’d follow me.
(From the angle of his right side; he turns his face back to the front, at that second, Haunting, in front, punched Danny upward)
Haunting: Bing! (Flies up and punches Danny forward) Bing! (Flies to Danny, punching him down) Bing! (Starts punching Danny up, down, left and right) BING! BING! BING! BING! (Punches upward once more) Bing! (Flies up and slams Danny down into a junkyard; Haunting lands on a pile of cars; shot from below of him facing down, smiling) EEEHHHHH... (Head tilts to his left, his right eye squints and his left eye widens) Tilt! (Danny gets up and fires a ghost ray at him, Haunting jumps away and lands on the side of a smaller pile of cars, jumps off and heads for Danny; Danny phases through the ground; Haunting snarls in anger) Come out Ghost Boy! We all have to die sometime! (Danny phases upward and blasts Haunting by the back)
Danny: Not today, Haunting! (Haunting runs at Danny with his arms in the air in anger, Danny stops him by punching him in the chest) Time to chill! (Eyes turn blue; ice comes from Danny right fist, creating ice that engulfs Haunting, Haunting shows anger and pain as it covers him completely, then, as his angry face is covered in ice, he opens his eyes and smiles evil, breaking out)
Haunting: I don’t chill, I kill! (Ghostly wail, sending Danny into a broken sports car, Haunting flies towards Danny and is ready to tackle him, but Danny flies out of the way by going up, causing Haunting to crash into the car) You should have stayed a normal boy. Sure that ugly little Sam would like you less, but he’s the only pro that beats all the cons... YOU COULD HAVE LIVED!!! (Fires two powerful rays from his hands that Danny uses a shield to block, but to no avail as it breaks through, sending him flying up and causing smoke; Haunting flies up faster, going through the smoke and he sees Danny, grabbing him with both hands) Now- (Clenches a fist and punches Danny, the fist goes through Danny, who turns into green smoke and disappears) A duplicate; not again! (Looks around and sees Danny is nowhere) I will find you...
(Tomorrow; after school, students walk out, Danny and friends walk out, Danny looks frightened)
Tucker: Dude, you look scared, and for once it’s not Dash.
Danny: Well, a creep who has stronger powers than me wants to break me in half. Who knows where he’d be?
Sam: Danny, relax. A trip to the “Skulk & Lurk” will help out. (New scene, the three walk down a street until, to their right, is the bookstore Sam loves) Come on. (Opens the door and walks in)
(Danny is about to step, but looks deep inside the store; noticing how dark it is, Danny steps back)
Tucker: Afraid of the dark, now?
Danny: No, every time I’ve seen some dark place, I keep thinking he’s going to be there, waiting for me. (Short pause; Danny pushes Tucker slightly into the store as Tucker screams like a girl and runs out the store; Danny smiles) Okay, now I feel better.
(Speaking of Haunting, or Ricky, someone is watching Danny from a few buildings down the street, hiding behind the corner)
Ricky: I could’ve ripped him in half by now, if not for two things. One: (Looks up at the sky, covering his eyes a bit) that accursed sun! Two: (Puts his hands on the leash) Vlad’s stupid leash. (Notices the leash is too big to fit on his neck) What the-? (Takes it off) The fruit loop said it could fit Haunting, but Ricky has a neck too small for it to hold onto. (Smiles evilly) Okay boss, time for some “renegotiations”.
(Fentonwork, nighttime; some are awake, heading down to the basement via intangibility and flight)
Danny: I can’t just live in fear, forever! I got to stop him, now. (Walks over to the Specter Speeder and opens the door, finding a Fenton Bazooka, he takes it) It’s no Thermos, but I can blast the shade into the Ghost Zone when I separate it from Ricky.
Danielle: Are you even gonna say “goodbye”? (Danny turns around and sees her, looking worried)
Danny: I’ll be back…
Danielle: What happens if- What am I supposed to tell everyone in case you- ? (Danny puts his hand on her head, making her stop)
Danny: I said “I’ll be back”. (Walks into the Specter Speeder and sits in the driver’s seat) Okay, here we go. (Pushes a button that has “Release” underneath; the bookcase opens up and Danny flies the Speeder through the opening)
Danielle: He’s either very brave or very stupid…
(Vlad’s office; Vlad sits on his chair at his desk)
Vlad: Now that that’s done, I can get rid of the engine and be on my way. (As he gets off his chair, Haunting breaks though the doors) What in blazes?!
Haunting: Vlad, we have some unfinished business! (Grabs Vlad by the shirt, lifting him up)
Vlad: You fool! Have you forgotten that with just one button- (Pulls out the remote) I can end you once and for all! (Smiles and pushes the button, nothing happens) Huh? (Haunting smiles bigger, Vlad gives a frightened smile as he pushes the button again, then three more time, his smile completely vanished)
Haunting: Looking- (Hold out the leash in his left hand) for this?! (Smashes it in his grip; Vlad’s fear fully covers his face)
(Fentonworks; we see Danielle on the couch watching TV as Jazz walks upstairs with the phone in her hand)
Jazz: Danny, it’s Sam!
(Danielle reacts quickly by running past her and blocking the way)
Danielle: He’s uh- study.
Jazz: Studying? Danny?
Danielle: Gotta keep your mind off a monster bent on ripping your head off, right? (Short pause as one younger smiles nervously and the other eyes her)
Jazz: Okay… (She lightly pushes Danielle aside and walks up; she opens Danny’s door, to find it hiding an empty room; on the phone she speaks) Can you call back? (Hangs up; to Danielle) Where is he?
Danielle: I’ll never tell! (Jazz pulls her ear) Ow! He went to find Haunting on his own and send the shade back to the Ghost Zone with that bazooka!
Jazz: Great… Now we have to find him… but if Haunting doesn’t kill him, there’s a good chance I will!
Danielle: Wow, I thought Haunting was scary.
(The Specter Speeder flies over the entire town; until landing on the top of a large office building that had “Vlad Co.” in gold on the top)
Danny: (Takes a deep breath) I don’t know if I’ll live... but I gotta try. (As Danny phases down the floor, someone flies above the building in a U-Shaped board)
Valerie: (Off screen, but not her feet and board) No, it couldn’t be...
(Inside Vlad’s office, Vlad Plasmius lays face down in pain and ripped clothes as Danny Phantom enters from the ceiling)
Danny: Whoa, Vlad.
Vlad: (Getting up) Haunting! He’s here, must get away... (Starts to crawl away, Dany stops him by stepping on his cape)
Danny: Where’s the engine, and Haunting? (Lights start blinking on and off)
Haunting: Right here... (Danny turns to see the doorway; shot of a pair of green eyes in the doorway, lights go off, shot of Haunting walking out of the doorway, lights go off, shot of Haunting’s face close up and smiling wide with his mouth open, lights go off, but his eyes remain)
End of Chapter 3

(Fentonworks; Dani flies towards Jazz’s window, where she opens the window)
Jazz: Anything?
Dani: Nope. (Tucker and Sam arrive on their scooters) Anything guys?
Tucker: We couldn’t find him.
Sam: I’m getting worried… (Angrily) Plus, if Haunting doesn’t finish him, I will! Where is he?
(Outside window of the office building, Danny Phantom is thrown out, being smashed through the window, he falls for a moment, and then he flies back to the window, only for Haunting to grab him by the face)
Haunting: Clumsy me... I almost dropped you without breaking your neck! (Slams him into the floor)
Danny: (Getting on his knees) You don’t have to do this.
Haunting: I don’t? (Laughs) Funny... (Kneels down, turns into Ricky) It’s the least I can do to ruin your life. (His voice now has hint of both anger and sadness) Kinda like how you ruined mine! Do you know what you put me through? First they were simple accidents, but now even my own dad doesn’t trust me.
Danny: But my friends, my family, even my enemies?
Ricky: You made me lose the people in my life, now I’ll make you lose yours. What do you think of that “Little badger”? (Turns into Haunting, raises his right arm in an attempt to slice Danny with his claw, screeches; suddenly something hits him from behind his head, turning around he sees none other than the suited Valerie Gray, aiming her right arm blaster at him, smoking red from the barrel)
Vlad: (Hugging her leg) Oh Valerie, thank goodness. That monster tried to destroy me! You wouldn’t let an innocent man who can pay you handsomely die, would you?
Valerie: (In a manner similar to Jack in “Phantom Planet”) An innocent man, no. You; who used me for his dirty work, yes. (She walks away from Vlad) So just turn ghost and fly away.
Vlad: (Getting up and turning ghost) You have just made an enemy for life, girl. (Goes intangible and flies away)
Haunting: (To Valerie) Leave, girl; this is none of your concern. You couldn’t get revenge in a lifetime, so beat it.
Valerie: This isn’t about revenge; I’m here for you. (The lantern from Chapter 2 appears on her shoulder again) Hey Haunting! Remember this?! (The light shine on Haunting, hurting him, as shown how he screams in pain; he goes intangible and flies upward; Valerie walks up to Danny and offers a hand up, Danny, who smiles, accepts) Sorry I wasn’t around, but I had some thoughts to go through.
Danny: Well, a couple of minutes ago would have been nice. (Looks around) Where’s the engine?
Valerie: Upstairs. (Points up)
Danny: I got an idea, go up there and wait for me. I got to find our “friend”.
Valerie: You got it. (Jumps, her Jet sled appears, she flies away into the door)
(Danny is alone, standing in a dark office room; looking around, seeing an empty, broken desk, a destroyed bookshelf and a smashed portrait of Vlad)
Danny: I know you’re here...
Haunting: (Off screen) Good, so you know what I want more than anything else.
Danny: Out of all the creeps that have wanted revenge, you’re the worst. You have no respect for anyone, you treat anyone who knows me coldly, you would waste any life to get mine and you treat my friends like dirt.
Haunting: And that’s an understatement!
Danny: Well, it ends; here and now!
Haunting: (His intangible arm goes through the floor and grabs Danny’s leg pulling him to the room below, another office) For once, we agree.
(Stomps on Danny, sending through the floor and into a hallway in the floor below; Haunting body slams him down 5 more floor, into a new hallway)
Danny: This won’t be easy.
(Haunting punches him through the wall on the right)
Haunting: NO DUH!
(Danny fires a blast through the hole that pushes Haunting into the wall creating a rather large indent; growling mad, Haunting fires a ghostly wail, that Danny avoids by going up, through the ceiling)
Haunting: No! (He smashes through the ceiling, and sees Danny, rushing over to him he grabs Danny, ready to punch, but stops, and thinks) A duplicate; not this time! (He aims his arm behind him, hitting a soda machine, were the apparent real Danny Phantom is hiding, he falls out) Nice try, Danny boy. (Releases the Danny he holds and walks to the other Danny, lifts Danny up) Think you could outsmart me?
Danny: (Smiles) Didn’t have to try too hard. (Danny disappears in his hands)
Haunting: (Surprised) WHAT?!
Danny: (The one Haunting mistook as the duplicate attacks him with a ghost ray; it is the real Danny) Guess that shade doesn’t know me as well as it thought.
(Haunting gets up, his eyes glowing greener than ever, snarling, and then roaring with rage)
Haunting: I’ll put an end to you and your loud mouth if it’s the last thing I do!
(From a higher lever, Valerie stands at the engine, hearing sounds of crashing and breaking loud enough to hear below)
Valerie: I hope I never end up with someone wanting revenge on me that much. (Looks worried) It makes me wonder if I could’ve been like that.
(Back down a few levels, Danny flies at full speed at Haunting, who smiles when he slams Danny in the face with his arm)
Haunting: So, instead of the bat brat, you decided to date the grumpy hunter.
Danny: I’m not dating anyone, what do you have against Sam?
Haunting: The fact she “loves” you when its just teenage romance that’ll go away when you enter college. Yet she makes a big deal out of it. I, on the other hand, hate you so much, it won’t last until college. Because you won’t live that long! Anyone who cares for you will suffer the same fate as you!
Danny: (Angered, fires a powerful blast in the style of a “Kamehameha” that blow Haunting’s upper body up, revealing the upper body of Ricky Johnson, he quickly is covered by the healing shade and is full Haunting once more) You would take innocent lives just to get even with me?!
Haunting: I don’t care who is innocent or guilty! And no, before I wanted to get even. Now I just want to see you Rest in Peace... without the peace! (Haunting flies out to Danny, who quickly dodges by jumping to the left; Haunting prepared for this as black tentacles come out of his body and wrap around Danny’s arms, keeping him from escaping; Haunting plays with his new punching bag, in one shot shows Danny’s face in pain, pan out to see him punched by Haunting; second shot of Haunting smiling, pan out to show a similar attack, final shot is similar to the first; Valerie, far upstairs, can hear Danny’s painful scream)
Valerie: That’s it, I’m going down there!
(Down there is Danny, completely worn out, as he is on his knees and his arms are hung up by Haunting)
Haunting: What doesn’t destroy makes you stronger... until you tried to destroy it.
Danny: Ricky, please, the shade, you got to take it off!
Haunting: (Puts his fists together and creates a huge ice spike) You’d like that, wouldn’t you, kiddo? (Places the spike above Danny, lifting it, ready to strike)
Danny: I know what it’s like. All that power just comes out of hating. The rage, the frustration, and the bitter hate you have. It feels good, but revenge is a pit... a pit that turns you into a monster. You become what you hate, maybe worse. For your sake, let it go! If you destroy me, the shade will take over completely!
Haunting: (Breathes heavy) I don’t care what happens to me, only what happens to you... Besides, I like that pit, I like hating you... it makes me feel so happy...
(About to thrust the ice into Danny, Haunting has an interruption when someone flies in from his left)
Valerie: (Speeding towards them) NO! (She tackles into Haunting; she lends her hand out to Danny) Get up!
Haunting: (Flies out and fires a ghost ray that pushed her away) My suit hates Danny as much as I do. But your suit... your suit is just the strings of ghosts. You never destroyed any ghost, just sent that back to the Ghost Zone.
Valerie: What?!
Haunting: Oh yeah, you’re no hunter; you’re a puppet, the ultimate pawn of the Ghost Zone!
Valerie: NO!
Haunting: Now let the real thing do the job, poser! (In his hands he creates two large icy spikes; Danny, who is still on his knees, gets up and sees Haunting jumping towards, roaring with his tongue lashing out, ready to plunge the ice into Danny’s body; Valerie saves him by tackling him out of the way, carrying him off with her Jet Sled) NO!
(Danny uses his intangibility on him, Valerie and the sled as they rise through the ceilings; Haunting on the other hand just smashes through each ceiling, hissing in anger)
Valerie: Sorry I didn’t wait!
Danny: I’ll let it slide!
Haunting: (Off-screen) PHANTOM!!!
Danny: (Looks down in the direction the sound came from) Take me to engine and grab the Fenton Bazooka inside the Specter Speeder at the rooftop! I got an idea!
(New scene of Haunting smashing through three floors until reaching a floor where he sniffs)
Haunting: You can run but you can’t hide, Danny Phantom, because I can smell the fear in your blood.
(He pushes a large box pile out of his way to find Danny Phantom, leaning on something)
Danny: You found me...
Haunting: About to finish you, for good! (Walks over to Danny) It’s only a few minutes past midnight Danny Phantom, the sunrise will not save you this time.
Danny: So I thought instead of waiting for the sunlight, we could make the sunlight! (Pushes a button on the thing he was leaning on, it brightens the room with sunlight, it’s the Solaris Engine; the lights starts to make Haunting smoke)
Haunting: What?! (Observes his hand, the dark-shadow melts off him) NO! (His black body starts melting) NNNOOOOOOO!!!!!!
(Danny can watch as this takes place, slowly the shade is off of Ricky)
Danny: I should turn it off, without the shade, Rick will get the worst of the radiation!
(Pushes the button, turning the machine off)
Valerie: (Flies in with the Bazooka in arms from the doors) I got it! Catch! (Throws it to Danny, who aims it at the separated shade) This ends now... (The shade hisses, Danny fires the blast)
Ricky: NO! (Not want wanting to separated from the shade, Ricky jumps into it, about to bond once again, as the blast heads his way)
Danny: RICKY!!!
(Too late, the blast hit the shade, creating a portal that pulls it in, with Ricky inside the shade)
Ricky: We’ll meet again, Danny Phantom, I SWEAR IT! (At that moment, Ricky is pulled in the portal, gone...)
(Danny drops the bazooka)
Valerie: (To herself, staring at the unnoticing Danny) When the time comes... (She slowly walks out of the room, while Danny just stares at where Ricky just was; a short pause later)
Danny: Valerie! (Too late, she’s gone) That’s weird, no threats, and no blasts? (Looks right where Ricky was again, takes a small pause) I don’t know if I should be scared for him, or scared of him.
(Ghost Zone, move to the right to see a huge rock formation floating; close up shoes Ricky, on all fours as the Dark shadow surrounds him, soon engulfing him, slowly until Ricky is now Haunting; Haunting, hunching, gets up, looking at the ground so we can’t see his face)
Haunting: (Quietly) So close... (Lifts his head, screaming into the ghostly heavens in anger) I WAS SO... (Pan out as he screams this next word, until the rock he is on is nowhere in sight) CCCCCCCLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSEE!
(Human word, dark room, a light goes on above, revealing a purple tiled floor and a podium; Vlad Masters walks in, goes ghost and pulls out blueprints)
Vlad: Excellent, now that I have examined the Solaris Engine, I can make more useful, smaller model. And with it, I can create the ultimate weapon.
(Hologram Maddie without the hood appears behind him)
Maddie: To destroy that idiot Jack Fenton, oh handsome one.
Vlad: Not this time. This time, it’s Daniel I will destroy. That brat has thwarted my plans too long. He destroyed my clones and turned one against me! He ruined my plans with the Infi-Map! He humiliated me as Mayor! And that’s just a fraction of reasons I wish to exterminate him. For now, Jack, Maddie and the world will have to wait. (Holds up the blue print) This will help solve everything. With Daniel’s DNA from the remains of the cloning experiment and the memories found in the shade, followed by the footage of his powers and with a smaller Solaris Engine, this machine will be able to finish him for good. It can’t be controlled by Technus, it can’t be hacked by Tucker Foley’s ridiculous PDA and it has neither the weaknesses of a human nor ghost. (Places the blueprints on the podium) I feel so happy!
Maddie: Shall I prepare your happy time foot rub?
Vlad: Of course... (Turn human) And don’t forgot my Packers DVD’s and the DVD special... “Jack Fenton’s TOP 100 humiliating goof ups”.
(Holographic Maddie vanishes; Vlad walks off screen happily; new shot of the podium and the blueprints on them; final shot is the blueprints in full view; they consist of a machine in the shape of a familiar character, front side on the right and right side on the left; the bottom reads in bold white letters “METAL DANNY PHANTOM PROTOTYPE”)
